CANCER AWARENESS

Most everyone knows someone, or has known someone, with cancer.

But are we really aware?   There is so much more to cancer than being very sick.

Cancer is not only physically devastating; it is mentally and financially devastating as
well.  I know, because I have just fought the “Big C” battle.

When I received the news of my illness, first there was shock then fear.

Were it not for lots of prayers, good insurance, good physicians, good family and good
friends I probably would not have been able to fight the winning battle.

As an insurance agent, with insurance, I did not dream that I would have to face the
reality of what having cancer really involves.  Insurance only pays so much and the rest
is on you.

To face this reality, during the weakest moments in ones life meaning, puking your guts
out and suffering from the terrible sickness which results from surgery and
chemotherapy, you realize that the hospitals, physicians, oncologist, surgical group,
pathologists, laboratory, anesthesiologist, radiologist all want their money from you that
insurance did not pay.

At the same time, my normal responsibilities of job, mortgage, car, other living expenses
as well as raising a teenager did not go away.  I will be paying my share for a very long
time, even being one of the lucky ones that had insurance.

My experience made me realize that there are so many people who are not able to work
during their illness and may or may not have any insurance at all, what happens to
them?

Do they sit home with no power and no money for prescriptions?

Do they even have money for gas to get to the doctor?

DO WE JUST LET THEM DIE?

I SAY NO!!!

I have been blessed therefore, THAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS RALLY!!!

We do not donate to the different cancer foundations.  We select a person or people with
cancer and proceeds are donated directly to the cancer patient.

THEY NEED IT.

BIKERS ARE GIVING PEOPLE!  SO WHAT BETTER THAN TO COME PARTY AND
KNOW THAT YOUR PARTY IS GIVING BACK TO SOMEONE IN NEED.

Cancer Sucks!!!
